“In order to decolonize our minds…we must begin to surrender participation in whatever sphere of coercive hierarchical domination we enjoy individual and group privilege…To choose love is to go against the prevailing values of the culture” Bell Hooks

Her Words Poem ~ My poetic angst to search for understanding in the aftermath…My mess… My resistance and fear of accepting that I am complicit in the white spaces that are privileged me and are defined by systems of oppression for people of color.  That my own measure of love needs further decolonization…that I am impoverished of experiences and understanding of the pain and suffering of people of color. That “White Fragility” in all its force embodies me with its lies of denial & self-protection
